Hi Mehrdad,
Gabe with the amount of gear listed, one would almost have to assume he has
a fairly heavy duty assignment to shoot and it may not be appropriate to
only carry light!  And he may not thank you if he needs all his gear to do
the shoot properly in the middle of the desert! ;-)

However, what you say is quite true at the best of times.  Travel light!....
when you can.
