One of the lovely things about LHSA and its VIEWFINDER magazine is the pearl
one regularly reads. Current issue, just in, has a Will Wright review of
David Douglas Duncan's book "Faceless," about his rencontre with HCB at the
outdoor cafe of the Picasso Museum in Paris in May 2000. Duncan is reported
to have asked HCB to borrow his Leica Minilux and a roll of TMax 400 and shot
the whole roll of HCB. All was well until DDD decided to publish the photos
in a slender book; it provoked HCB to start litigation to prohibit
publication in France. But it was published in New York, cover photo is of
HCB behind a Minilux (non-zoom).
