Peter - I use a Microsoft "Intellimouse" Trackball - I know you said you do
not like them but the reason I like it is because I had trouble constantly
holding my arm and hand in tension with a regular mouse.  In effect you are
trying not to put pressure on the mouse because you have to move it around.

Alternatively, with this trackball in particular, you can put the weight of
your hand and forearm on the mouse, it is shaped to take your hand, and, of
course, need not move around.  You can even rest your forearm on the desk -
ah relief!

You are somewhat like my wife, she complains about pain in the shoulder of
the arm which moves the mouse, but refuses to try the trackball.  Can't
recommend it enough - good luck - Hugh Thompson
