FWIW, you can see a few comments on the R7 at the Leica Q&A Forum:

I used to have an R7 before I replaced it with an R8. I don't regret
making the move but I enjoyed using my R7 and it had many good features
that suited my requirements. I found its metering to be very accurate.
TTL flash features were very good, especially fill-in flash in T
(shutter priority) mode. I didn't find the selectable shutter speed
range from 4 sec to 1/2000 sec, in half steps, to be too limiting.

On the downside, the R7 viewfinder information was a little difficult
to read because the red LEDs were faint and small. Film loading was
more fiddly than with the R8 but not too bad. Flash synch was slow, at
only 1/100 sec. The size and shape of the R7 body did not fit my hands
as comfortably as the R8 (but YMMV). I also found that, if I switched
between modes (say, from P to T) with the film already advanced and the
camera switched on, it would sometimes cause the shutter to fire
inadvertently; however, this was probably a fault unique to my
particular R7.
