Precisely my point, sir.  You all saw the flames that erupted on that one.
I violated the rule, and chaos resulted.  And I have less excuse than
Henry, as I KNOW why we shouldn't post on political topics.  (In my
defense, I will point out that I was responding, in some sniffiness, to the
post of another.)

And that is what happens WHENEVER someone posts a political commentary:
someone else reads it, gets miffed, posts a hot response -- and we are off
to the races.  Almost always, the subsequent posters run off the field on
tangents of their own.

Thus, gentle chiding, off-List, is perhaps in order for political comments
- -- but, when someone responds hotly to another's comments, let's all hold
our peace, MYSELF included!
