Thanks Ted. I didn't realize they had the airports staked out!

I ran into some relatives of those guys on a trip to Florida's Lake
Okeechobee. We went for a short walk near the shore and returned to find
hundreds (classic understatement) of the blood suckers waiting patiently on
the car for us to come back! I couldn't tell whether they were smiling
'cause my RF Summilux isn't real good at small head shots (gratuitous Leica
content). I guess they weren't really as big as sparrows (even though we
thought so at the time).

Years later I noticed in a report that the area around that lake had an
unusually high incidence of AIDS. I'm told (but have trouble believing )
that mosquitoes aren't a vector for that disease. Still I'm glad we escaped
with only a few score punctures...
