Well, I suspect that a large mammal (such as I, sigh) generates the same
amount of CO2 running away while madly flapping his arms and slapping
himself...

Hmmm. Maybe that's how birds really learned to fly...

But CO2 is only one of the cues they use. If you attract more to the area
with CO2, I bet some of the additional little suckers would use the other
methods to find me...
