Any explanation so far is technical: cost of f1 vs. f1.4, ISO 100 vs. ISO 
200, 300g vs. 600g...
If we agree that photography is one of art form, then we have to answer 
question:

Noctilux photos are different, then new Leica glass delivers like 90/2 ASPH 
or 35/2 ASPH.
And Noctilux has sort of two faces: when a photo is made around f1 it has 
creamy look, when is made around f5.6 is smooth and pastel like. It is 
difficult to explain.
See how the picture is painted by Noctilux, and then decide,
