hi frank

the #29 is indeed a deep red filter, recommended for many kinds of IR,
but just fine with conventional film as a deeper flavor of the #25 filter.
i got hooked on it
after reading adam's "the negative" and seeing what it did for clouds.
it takes away something like 3 stops, so it's tough to use unless you
have a large aperture... which the noctilux just happens to have :-)
