I have no idea what the last means.

As to the first, Peter, that is HOW criticism works.  General slams are
just slams, without substance, and do not aid either a potential reader or
the author.  A specific comment, on the other hand, can be weighed for its
veracity and can be of great assistance to all.

Your "Compendium Review" was simply a disgruntled statement of dislike
without more.  What are we to make of this?

This is, after all, the 'marketplace of ideas', and an idea tossed into the
mix for evaluation must have meat or else it merely becomes a rather surly
comment without substance or worth.

In other -- and rather rude -- words, "put up or shut up".
