Subject: [Leica] noctilux chess photos

my good friend at work happens to be a International Grand Master Chess player.
every few years, someone in the office comes along claiming to be a great chess
player. if my boss--the head of the MBS (mortgage-backed securities)
trading desk (the guy in the second photo)--hears about it, he insists on
a game then and there to prove who's the better man.
typical trader mentality stuff. :-)

such an impromptu challenge occurred last week. i happened to have my M6
and Noctilux at work, intending on testing a roll of Neopan 1600. after hours
when everyone was herded off the trading desk into a nearby conference room
for the event, i was ready. in the end, my friend vanquished the challenger,
even after granting a 5-minute time extension. i won't say that money did
not change hands.

here are the images:

lighting was horrible, typical conference room with those
cans shooting straight down.

if nothing else, the expression of the spectators is fairly amusing.
i enjoyed the fact that no one seemed to notice me or the camera.

M6 0.85 Classic
Noctilux 50/f1.0
Fuji Neopan 1600 at EI 640, Xtol(1+3) 11.5 min (too flat, still testing)
Exposure: f1.0 1/125-1/250 sec
