Herb-
Your question is not silly- infact there are no silly questions if you
genuinely don't know, but what tends to happen is a flurry of silly
answers!!!
All too often a newbie actually comes out of lurking mode to ask a question,
and then gets bombarded with an avalanche of answers, some good, some silly,
and all too often, a thread that unravels off on a tangent and refuses to
die! I actually find it kind of fun, and have actually learned a lot from
following some of them, though the ones concerning QED left my little
Newtonian brain throbbing in pain and confusion! Also- every once in a while
some one will ask a simple question involving optics, and Erwin will expound
and I go "AAARGH" in frustration, tear up my Mensa card, and have a good
cry!
You can learn more than you ever need to know about any number of things
here! :o)
Dan
