While any decent flash will do, I'd recommend a thyristor auto flash.

I've used Rollei's (pre-thyristor), Sunpacks, Vivitars and now Metz's.
If funds permit, get an SCA flash. You can use it manually now and with
TTL bodies in the future.

Just make sure you get the Leica to PC adapters, otherwise the flash
will not be usable.
