Just wondering - does that mean that the 28mm Nikon could stand immersion up
to a foot or two? I want to be able to take pictures while floating in a dry
suit, probably in salt water (more Coast Guard projects), and the 28mm
format would be ideal. But the camera would definitely get wet and probably
be underwater occasionally, but not very deep.

BTW, I just talked to my friend who is CG Group Commander in New Jersey,
where the Area of Responsibility also includes Manhattan. On September 11th,
one of his crews on a Dolphin HH65-A helicopter took photos of the twin
towers on their routine patrol before heading back south to Atlantic City
HQ. Just minutes later the attack occurred. Then for the next few days,
helos out of Atlantic City where among the total of about 10 aircraft
allowed to fly in the country. Captain Bob Durfey has been one busy officer
lately - please keep him in your prayers.

I will be taking Leicas and Hasselblads aloft tomorrow with the CG out of
Group Humboldt Bay for photos of installations and boats in Crescent City
and Eureka. Things are relatively calm here on the Northcoast of California
up in the redwoods, but I am having to show my CG Artist Program
photographer ID for the first time to the sentries at all CG stations.
