Bill,

Get some black rubber cement from your local hobby supply store. With a
toothpick as the applicator, apply lightly to area on the side of the
curtain that is rubberized . Allow each coat to dry before applying the
next.

In the absence of black rubber cement you can use black Shoe-Goo or similar
as well as siliconised sealer. The important thing to remember is that
regardless of agent  you choose, it must remain flexible when dry.
