The weight of the lenses is essentially the same. The ASPH 1.4 is 250gm,
the ASPH 2.0 is 255 gm...... according to Leica.

The filter for the 1.4 is bigger. E46 while the F2 is E39.

The 1.4 does cut into the VF more. This is because the lens is longer...46
vs 35 mm long, a difference of about 1/2 inch.

If the lenses were the same condition, the F2 would sell for just around
$1000 used. The F1.4 is about $1600 used.

If you need the light gathering capability ( inside shooting, low light
outdoors) and like very little DOF, and want to use fine grain film, then
the 1.4 is the choice. If you are going to use the lens outdoors in
daylight, with high speed fiolm and want maximum DOF, buy the 2.0 and tell
ME where the 1.4 can be bought so cheaply!
