When I was younger I used to take my bike apart quite frequently. In order 
to de-grease parts I soaked them in gasoline and obviously I had my hands 
in there to clean the parts. At that time it didn't really bother me. But 
then a few years later, I started getting rather deep cracks on my fingers. 
I went to the doctor, got some ointment, and that took care of it for a 
while. To make a long story short... Today, if I stare at a stick of soap 
my hands start cracking. I, therefore, use a moisturizer every day. 
Prolonged exposure to chemicals definitely isn't the best thing in the world...
