Subject: RE: [Leica] Dancing and Architecture, was Canon EOS for Leica-style...sorry!

Last month I had a photo assignment in New York. It was an awards
ceremony for local teachers, school administrators, and students whose
actions on September 11th were exemplary or otherwise awardable. My job
was simple: to get shots of the celebrities, the kids, and the awardees.
The gear? Leica M6 + Noctilux, and Canon EOS-1HS+28-105mm zoom+540EZ
speedlight. Those in attendance, among others, were Penny Marshall,
Ellen Barkin, and Quincy Jones. My only point here is that as a paid
photographer, I have managed to boogie with buildings.

Here are some shots for everyone's enjoyment. The goofy guy in the
third shot was the other photographer - a friend of mine and a big fan
of EB.

I hope you like them.

OK, for all three of you that have gotten this far, I'd also like to
take some responsibility for this scratchy thread. Simon privately sent
me a very gracious and complimentary email last week, asking me nearly
the same questions; he'd seen my low-light work with Canon gear and
wanted some input. I was too slow to respond. Tardy, but not
negligent. Perhaps if I had done so more quickly, we wouldn't be
throwing rocks at each other. Simon and the LUG, I apologize.

Regards,
Colin

But a Leica M or R bumping up agonist an EOS for me would be like
wearing a red shirt and orange pants. (And i guess you'd have to pull
out the white shoes for that outfit) they go together like dancing and
architecture.
