I surprised myself the first few times I was caught without a working meter.
I'll bracket, but more often than not my first exposure is the one I really
wanted.  That is, assuming I've been in a similar situation before.  Stick
me in a weird or new lighting scenario, and I'm just guessing.  If I've shot
that type before, though, it's amazing how good the human brain is at
comparing the current situation to a similar one in the past.
