Subject: [Leica] In praise of the Kodak 3600

I've had the 3600 about one year now, put thousands of slides/negatives
through it and have come to appreciate the "look up" tables from Kodak.
Basically, if you are using a film that Kodak has profiles on you performed
a prescan on one frame to make a curve adjustment or not, adjust any color
imbalances say from fluorescent lighting and let the scanner go. It really
does a very good job from its programming. If you frequently use the same
situation you can store that and call it up, much like actions in PS.

Flaws would be no scratch/dust removal software, it isn't the best sharpness
wise on the far corners of a frame(fixed by mounting film in slide mounts),
you really have to have good eyes to really see the prescan as the window is
too small, the curve box is really sensitive to setting points, and it's not
popular on the lists.
