That is exactly what I do as well. From a typical roll I may select 10 frames to
scan, some of which may be eliminated based on the preview in the scanning
software (Vuescan). I have no need for contact sheets, once you see a negative
on a good light table through a nice loupe like the Leica or the Schneider that
I use, then you can pretty much tell the wheat from the chaff.
