First of all, one roll a week ain't too expensive no matter how you do it.
That said, you can shoot like a MF or LF photographer does, i.e., carefully
compose your subjects rather than "spray and pray". And you can vow to show
your best image of the week on a PAW site even if it isn't all that great
(my method, by the way). As anyone who has gone to Weight Watchers knows,
you show up EVERY week even if you've gained some weight. So, you had a bad
week? Post what you have anyway. Having bought an M6 instead of a Hexar RF,
you have a single-fire instead of a fully-automatic (machine gun) camera.
Don't bracket, use negative film, and check your exposure carefully. Once
you're comfortable with your abilities, you'll start shooting more without
feeling that it is possibly a waste.

I learned on a Yashica D (12 exposures per roll) at a time when I was making
$26 a week washing dishes part time. Thirty-six exposures with a motor
drive? I could eat a week's salary in 12 seconds these days.
