Marc,

If you are stuck at that price point, it's EXCELLENT - especially when
combined with Vuescan for $40.00  (which draws out the best aspects of the
scanner that the Canon software misses).

I'm using mine for general work, and have successfully printed up to 20x24
(from a good leica slide...)

It doesn't have dust removal though, so make sure you are good with cans of
air and a camel brush....

But for that price, can't be beat.
