The 0.58 will focus a 90 at 2.8, after all the CL could focus a 90 at 4.0.
The better choice is a recent 90 Elmarit at 2.8. Very, very good: just not
as good as the AA which means finicky Leica people are selling theirs cheap
to move up.

On a budget the Russian 85 at about $100 is the better buy in a multicoated
variant. It's nicely rounded at 2.0 and very sharp by 5.6. Also, if speed
isn't an issue the 90 for the CL is very good.
