A Certain Leica Repair Person whose name I cannot mention has apparently
stated that this is the result of poor glue in the rear lens group;  as
this group is pressed into the lens mount and not held there by retaining
rings, it is quite difficult to remove and replace.  This has been stated,
with attribution, many times on this List.

I don't know:  I've owned three or four of these puppies over the years,
and all of mine were flawless and performed quite well.
