John, a more elegant and less resource intense wash regimen is as follows.
Once out of the fix fill the tank with tempered water, rap the tank just as
when developing to remove air bells.  Let stand 30 seconds then drain.
Repeat but this time for one minute.  Repeat again but let stand for two
minutes. Repeat again but let stand for four minutes.  Once more at four
minutes and your done.  The last two periods you should agitate every minute
or so.  This method works due to serial dilution and is similar to some
methods used to wash prints when water is scarce.  The major difference is
the absence of Sistan which Agfa recommends.
