Subject: [Leica] R8 Depth of Field Lever

The R3 thread on DOF levers reminded me of a question I should ask. On my
new R8, when I depress the DOF lever, the lens stops right down, but when I
release the lever, it opens back up again fairly slowly. It does this on
all my lenses. Is this normal?

I know the DOF lever on the R3-7 cameras is a mechanical linkage, and I
believe the R8 linkage is electronic of some sort. Maybe it is designed
like this, or maybe it is sticking?????
