Henry,

If you go to http://www.metz.de and follow their interactive 
instuctions, it looks like the 3502 is indicated. My impression is that 
the 3502 is a newer version of the 3501 which may (?) have been 
discontinued since I can't find any reference to it on the Metz website.

In any event, I have a 32MZ-3 that I use with my R8 and it has a 3502 
controller mated to it, which is the one indicated by the Metz website.
