Would such a coating (wax/Teflon/etc.) have any residual vapor or
chemical that might damage a lens, or any camera parts confined within
the case?

I am also curious if anyone makes their own carrying/storage cases by
cutting the thick sheets of black plastic foam and gluing into an old
briefcase, etc. I did that and it works fine, but I am concerned about
the possible effect of the glue -- I used Elmer Craft Bond which says it
is acid free.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Much appreciated.
