Nothing wrong with a young man wanting to learn the basics. But
who you learn it from and what you learn can turn very wrong
indeed.

You want to learn portaiture. Start at the museum - take a good
long look at the Rembrandts for lighting, composition,
expression, backgrounds, et al.

To point a portrait student to a site like we're discussing, is
akin to pointing a cooking student to McDonalds.
