That's not how the Gossen Luna Pro Digital works. When the meter is off, 
and you point it at something, then push "M", it turns on, takes a reading, 
and displays the "NEW" reading. It does not save and display the old 
reading when the meter is off then turned on. Pushing the "M" button ALWAYS 
takes a fresh reading.

Take a reading. Let the meter turn off. Hold your hand over the end of the 
meter and push "M". You'll get a new reading.  Eu  . Or if you had pointed 
at a different lighting situation, it will read that.

As I said, pushing "M" whether the meter is on or off, will always take a 
fresh reading.
