Within 5 minutes of taking the photograph of the musicians the heavens opened - there was another guy with a chrome M6TTL and 35mm lens photographing them, I've never seem as many Leicas in my life as here in Paris. Ten minutes after taking the photo I stopped worrying about getting wet - I _couldn't_ get any wetter. I tried to increase the contrast of the photos in Photoshop, but obviously not enough. This is a consistent problem I have. I think it's that I'm afraid of blowing the highlights. Was it an extremely overcast, gloomy day? I have to admit that I have never been further north than Boston, so I'm not accustomed to what the sun does at that oblique of an angle in the dead of winter (other than making ISO 400 to 800 a must). Then again, my monitor at home is getting on in years.
