Subject: [Leica] Question about hooking up Domke strap

I got a Domke Gripper strap and it came with little metal rings and a
leather thingy that looks like the strap threads through. How do I thread
this up? I assume the leather goes on the strap post and serves to protect
the camera from being marred by the strap, but what am I supposed to thread
the strap through the leather and the metal ring both?
