Thanks for your comments.  The difference I have experienced using Vuescan
does suggest that the scanner is accentuating the grain.  However, I have
had Delta 100 and 400 developed by labs and I have not had so much grain
evident in the LS30 scans.  As you say, it may be my developing time needs
to be adjusted to reach the optimum.  I shall experiment!
