Hi Don,
I've noticed several others suggesting getting closer, it's a good point
with good intention of being right in there.

However, instead of getting "physically closer" a step or two in their
direction which may well intimidate some of these good folks, I'd look at a
slightly longer lens, but not more than a 90. Or enlarging the scene in the
final print.

And even though you know these people you have to weigh their "camera
re-action" to making successful pictures. It's all well and good to get
closer, but if in doing so you begin to make the subjects or even one
uncomfortable, you loose the natural look and make some feel uneasy. Which
in this case isn't necessary.

At this point it might be worth a quick look at enlarging one or two. But
don't forget "these are your pictures and how you like them" along with the
feel you wish to create or in how you see them.

Personally when I saw them first I liked the kind of "over all not in their
faces feel."
