In the early 1980's I could get anything Leica I wanted and use it for reasonable times...and was asked, by Leica, to photograph polo matches in the Virginia- Maryland area and was rewarded with Kodachrome by the brick and use of R lenses(except the damned 800mm). Also note that the M7 was in my hands last week. There I feel sooo much relieved.
