What you say makes sense to me. I haven't noticed flare, under normal
use, regardless of where the light is coming from, in either of the
M6TTLs (.58 and .72) that I bought new during the last 4 months. I can
cause the RF patch to white out ONLY if I deliberately position my eye
too far to the left or right of the viewfinder centre.
