Subject: [Leica] why i can't be a professional photographer

because i would strangle my customers--same reason i couldn't be a
waiter. i did some PRO BONO photography for the preschool at my
church--something i was glad to do--and one of the mothers is driving me
nuts because the aspect ratio on her 8x10s isn't the same as on her 4x6
proofs. i've tried to explain the relationship between 2:3 and 4:5, but
i might as well be speaking urdu. she seems to think i can change MATH
to suit her needs. i also can't seem to get her to realize it's a good
portrait, even if it doesn't include the kid's feet. it includes the
kid's personality, which is what's important.

i should have told them they could have only 4x6s and 8x12s, but i was
trying to be nice and offer them lots of sizes.

i'm going to get business cards that say "i shoot and print full-frame.
if you don't like it, get someone else."
