I wear a plus 4 correction for far vision. When I put on my glasses,
objects not only appear a little larger but also a little closer. For
example, when I look down at my foot and then put glasses on, my leg looks a
little stouter and a little shorter.

Also, as you say, it doesn't seem to be simply a matter of diopters. If I
leave plus 2 or 3 diopter correction on my eyepiece and then look through
that with my eyeglasses, everything is hopelessly blurred. I have to remove
either the diopter eyepiece or my glasses.

But I would still love to know the answer to B. D.'s question. Probably has
something to do with focal length of the magnifying eyepiece (wild guess).

Possibly related thought: isn't it true that the projected image from a 90mm
Colorplan lens covers a wider angle than you would see from the same
distance, if you put a 90mm lens on your SLR and looked at the screen? I
haven't actually tested this.

As I understand it, diopter correction is not simple magnification but
"correction". I use a +2 diopter correction lens on my M cameras and there
is no magnification of the image.

If there was magnification, our glasses would make the world look VERY
strange!!
