Because it's easy, because almost everyone has a PayPal account, and people are nervous about passing along credit card information to some random eBay seller to have processed another way. I kind of like it -- someone says they want something, 5 minutes later I get an e-mail saying the money has been transferred, and we go from there. My only risk is that the buyer will try and back out of the purchase after the equipment has shipped, but I send USPS with signature confirmation so the local postmaster would *love* to hear of someone commiting a fraud using the postal service... I can't say I'm a big fan of PayPal. I don't like paying 2.9% of payments in commission, but my Nova account isn't much better than that. But in a lot of ways it's got advantages over requiring someone to go to the bank or post office to get a money order and then send the MO my way.
