Newnet is the IRC ...#leica is the channel

I run it in the background at work, for what that is worth.

Currently away from keyboard (AFK) as I am chainsawing
trees.

Just let it run in the background if you can...the chat is
free-flowing and depends upon who is currently on the scene
and what else they are doing...during the week their is a
pretty consistent group of folks who are in computer-related
tasks...a quick answer you may not get because "we be
working folks" whose jobs might require that we are
work-related at times.
