It's simple - Not everyone on this Leica list thinks that because Leica
makes it, it's automatically the best. Some of us actually think that
Leica's reflex bodies are sadly out of date and overpriced. And some of us
also believe that, in the reflex world, there are numerous lenses that are -
at least under real-world conditions, the equal of Leica lenses. Liking,
using, appreciating, one part of the Leica line doesn't require one to use,
like, admire the entire line.

BTW, $7000 for a 35-70 2.8 zoom?!!!! That is truly sad.

Can't imagine why someone on a leica list would say that.  There are a
couple of pretty marvelous macro lenses in the R lineup, you know.
