A historical note is that all these photos are of areas that will be underwater next year when the largest dam in the world is finished.... This farmer we met on the trail and ended up staying the night in his home. His family was in another province preparing their new home. needless to say he is poor and the 30,000 CNY that the central governmet has promised for his relocation has been wittled down to about 3-4,000 CNY (less than 500$USD) by the local government, and that's if he ever receives it.
