This is a bizarre (and untrue) statement.

Why would you have to take your eye away from the VF?  Your selected speed
is solid red; the measured exposure blinks.  You turn the shutter speed dial
right to decrease speed, left to increase.  Unlike the Leica, you don't have
to look outside the VF or even have to change your grip, because that dial
sits right under your right thumb.
