Sounds like you have got a grey market lens from Hong Kong rather than a
Hong Kong authorised lens.  An authorised lens from HK would not be
classified as 'grey' by any Leica agents globally.

I understand that all HK eBay sellers sell grey market stuff and that's why
I have never sold at eBay all these years.
