When you are in Florence, I highly recommend driving south to Chianti and Montalcino and visit some vineyards. The food is great, the wine even better, and many of the vineyards are very photogenic. In addition, if you choose the right vineyards and phone ahead, you will get a wine tasting with the owner and have a wonderful opportunity for interaction with the locals.
