Ken,

If you had ventured north to Milan I might have driven down for a ITALUG
meeting, but you are going to be a bit too far south for me.

When you are in Florence, I highly recommend driving south to Chianti and
Montalcino and visit some vineyards. The food is great, the wine even
better, and many of the vineyards are very photogenic. In addition, if you
choose the right vineyards and phone ahead, you will get a wine tasting with
the owner and have a wonderful opportunity for interaction with the locals.
Buy a good wine guide to Tuscany and call in advance. If you need specific
references, contact me off-list.

Nathan
