Subject: [Leica] R8 and scratched slide film

About two months ago on two different occasions I got processed and mounted
Provia 100F back from the Fuji lab in San Diego and noticed that about 6
slides had a scratch in almost the center position, running from the left
border to the right. The owner of the camera store I had given it to told me
to write to Fuji. I did, and Fuji apologized in writing, enclosing two free
rolls of Velvia and two free processing certificates. Yesterday I got a roll
of Scala back from Main Photo in Santa Ana and the same thing happened.

My R8 is super clean inside. I have never opened it to remove and insert
film in any condition, such as a windy day, that could result in foreign
objects getting in the back. Therefore, I still insist the scratches, one
per slide, have been produced by the labs. Am I perhaps wrong on this? I'd
certainly like to hear others' points of view. Thanks.

Terry
