It is not listed as a feature of M7 in my M7 brochure.
I tried this on M6 and the photo frames comes out of phase. They move 
slightly when you wind only shutter again. In the book  “The Leica 
Rangefinder way” by Matheson, the author has the same observation. He only 
recommends to do it if we made photo, which was not actually made, by 
mistake i.e. in complete darkness or with lens cover on . By making 
“multiple exposure” we can save that frame. But I will rather wind film and 
go on with shooting. It is faster and less noises that way.
