Normally I stay out of stuff like this but in this case:

Eric, would you care to list the virus or viruses that could potentially run against MS Outlook without executing a file, installing a Screen Saver (.scr) or running any VB Script ?

My understanding has always been that unless you have your "preview" window open in Outlook and you allow it to execute attachments; you should be "ok" (not necessarily saying that you cannot attain a virus but that you would actually have to execute the file in question).

I'm curious since, although we do not use MS Outlook where I am employed, and I'm no huge MS fan, this seems a little suspect.

Thanks,
Dave

Depends. If you use Microsoft Outlook, you very well might be. It's the
only email program I know of that will infect you without your doing
anything. Among a multitude of other reasons, this should be cause for
sensible people not to use Outlook.

Save a copy of the message header. That's the only way of telling for sure
who the infected party is. The "from" address is easily changed.
