I know I'm late in entering the 21st century, but DAMN! DSL is a gas!

It took more than a month to get the right hookup kit from the ISP, etc.
etc. And I had some initial installation problems, but now that I'm up and
running, I agree with those who have said that the difference between DSL
and a modem seems greater than the difference between a modem hookup and no
hookup at all. In fact, the DSL seems faster than the hookups on campus at
MIT, and at the PR firm I work for in NY....really amazing, particularly for
viewing photos and sending and receiving jpgs.....Wow...

Man, Austin, the LUG is a hard taskmaster! That would be a fun project
(among a dozen others!) to go back to the old Sawyer's slide trays and pick
a few Nurburgring photos to scan and put on my web site. At least for now,
you could *read* a little about it. My old article for Viewfinder is at
http://www.northcoastphotos.com/ then click Projects and Exhibits, then
Leica Article. The web site is a bit of a mess, but I just met yesterday
with a new designer who knows his stuff, and who, I hope, won't leave in the
middle of it all like the last guy.
